Scientific Games Acquires Live Casino Specialist Authentic Gaming

Scientific Games, a New York-listed gaming provider has made its first move into the live casino business with the acquisition of Authentic Gaming.

The purchase boosts Scientific Games’ in-house development capabilities for building live casino products, particularly for the US market, where the supplier plans to open additional studios to offer localised goods to operators around the area. The amount of the purchase remains undisclosed.

Scientific Games has always aspired to be the go-to company in the realm of cross-platform global gaming, and this acquisition puts them one step closer to reaching that objective. Live casinos account for over 30% of the iGaming business, and Authentic Gaming has established itself as one of Europe’s leading live casino content producers.

This purchase is another step forward in Scientific Games’ strategic plan as the firm works to realise its objective of being the premier cross-platform global gaming company.

Scientific Games continues to invest in strategic development prospects in order to focus on game diversity and expansion in a rising iGaming industry in the United States as it transitions to a digital and content-led growth firm.

Authentic Gaming, based in Malta, has established a reputation as a live roulette expert, with games streaming straight from a state-of-the-art studio and the floors of some of the world’s most luxury casino resorts.

The provider has increased its range with the inclusion of live Blackjack, and Baccarat is on the way in the near future. Authentic Gaming live casino games are presently connected with over 30 European operators, including, among others, Entain, 888, Betway, LeoVegas, and Mr Green.

Second time in 2 years Authentic is changing hands

The software provider used to be a subsidiary of Leo Vegas under the LeoVentures portfolio. In 2019 Genting Group has agreed to pay $16.7/£12.9 million for the acquisition of Swedish casino business LeoVegas’ live games division, Authentic Gaming.
