Caribbean stud poker is a popular poker variant that is played against the house. Evolution Gaming in partnership with Games Marketing saw that gap in the market and have created an exclusive online live dealer version of the game. Live Caribbean Stud poker has all the qualities that a casino player wants like speed, direct play, good payouts and a bonus side bet.
What is Live Caribbean Stud poker
Caribbean stud poker has very similar rules to five card stud poker. The player is dealt five cards and competes against the house (or the live dealer in our case) who must have at least an Ace (A) and a King (K) to qualify to play.
The player’s cards are dealt face up while the live dealer’s cards are face down except the last card which is face-up as well.
The player gets to decide if he wants to raise or fold before the live dealer complete hand is revealed.
The decision of raising or folding depends on how strong the player thinks his hand is compared to the dealers.
The payout of a potential win depends on the value of the hand that the player has. So for example a two pair will pay 2 to 1 while a full house will pay 10 to 1.

How to play Caribbean Stud
So now that you have an idea of what kind of poker game is Caribbean Stud poker let’s have a look at how a full hand is played.
Before the players get dealt any cards they need to place their bets, also known as Ante. Once the Ante bet is placed the live dealer will deal the five cards to the players, all facing up and the dealer’s cards with one facing up and four facing down. Then the players will need to decide if they want to bet – also known as Raise – or fold.
When all the players make their call then the dealer will turn his four cards that are facing down and the full hand will be revealed. As we have mentioned before the dealer needs to have Ace-King or higher to qualify to play, otherwise the players will get even money on their Ante bets and push on their Raise bets.
The 5+1 Bonus Side Bet
The 5+1 Bonus bet is an optional side bet. You win on your 5+1 Bonus bet when your five cards plus the dealer’s first face-up card can create a five-card poker hand of Three of a Kind or better
